Baltic States Treeclimbing Championship 2021

A total of 33 competitors from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania took part in the competition. For the first time, a student competition was planned in parallel with the main competition, in which 13 competitors took part. On the first day, there were five events: workclimb, aerial rescue, throwline, belayed speedclimb and ascent event. With these events, the best three men and two best women were determined, as well as the best students in the student competition, who made it to the final competition: Master’s Challenge, on Saturday. The finals were Tarmo Sklave and Kerdi Varm from Estonia, Tautvydas Kuodys from Lithuania, Uldis Snikis and Daiga Strele from Latvia, as well as the winners of the student competition Daces Jansones from Latvia and Tauri Mikk from Estonia. All finalists showed high-class climbing, students got useful experience. Kerdi Varm from Estonia and Tarmo Sklave also from Estonia became the Baltic champions in tree climbing 2021. Hummuli manor park is an ideal place to hold such a competition, in addition, Tõrva municipality provided all-round assistance in organizing the event. A very strong contribution to the success of the competition was made by OÜ Arbogear, which prepared two competition areas and assisted in the organization and execution of the entire event. We also thank all the other supporters who supported the event, Latvian and Lithuanian arborist organizations, especially the forty volunteers without whom the competition would not be possible.
